Languages and international cultures

Pedagogical project

Manager : Neville Dyer

The aim of the Languages and International Cultures pole is to teach communicative competence in foreign languages. Since using a foreign language is a dynamic and interactive process, in the majority of classes the focus is on oral competence. Documents are used from the press or relating to the business world and these are complemented by audiovisual material.

Three-fold objective:

1. Awareness of the culture of the target language
2. Promoting multicultural interactions
3. Encouraging academic exchanges

The pole also works alongside faculty members, providing linguistic assistance for publications, research or preparing conference papers. The pole is also occasionally involved in lifelong learning teaching for the BEM administrative and academic staff.
