CEREBEM

At the heart of BEM’s strategy, the aim of our research is to have a better understanding of the business world. Teacher researchers develop their work based on principles of initiative and responsibility and offer managers some innovative working tools and methods.

The close association between matters of concern to companies and so-called academic research has resulted in the creation of the CEREBEM (Centre de REcherche de BEM) Research Centre which is organised into three areas of research :

CEREBEM assists teacher researchers in their work with economic and academic actors in local, national and international fields. There is a considerable amount of external funding obtained through teaching and research chairs, and the work of the BEM professors contributes to extending knowledge and thus to improved performance in organisations.

The main directions for research development at BEM

BEM considers research to be a fundamental element of its identity. We are committed to furthering research in the following directions:

  • Scientific excellence, measured by publication in recognised academic journals and attending conferences.
  • Commitment to the international debate on ideas, measured by international publications and conferences and membership of international networks.
  • Balance between research into new areas of expertise and applied research, measured by the proportion of publications in academic journals or conferences and teaching or professional journals or conferences.
  • Diffusion of the results of research (teaching, applications in companies, etc.), measured by efforts to validate this work (research days, research directory, congresses, etc.).
