Chairs

The Chairs are centres of expertise, based on the Anglo-Saxon model of management teaching and in accordance with Equis standards. They are placed under the responsibility of a professor, and they have 3 functions: teaching, research and company relations.

Teaching

Created by partner companies and research professors, BEM Chairs offer carefully selected students a 40-hour training programme. Taught courses are given by managers from the partner companies. At the end of the programme students obtain a Chair certificate: a means for a company to identify interesting profiles and a real asset on the CVs of participating students.

Research

A Chair covers a specific operational research topic, defined in collaboration with the supporting company. This research is supervised by one or more professors who are experts in this field. The result is a scientific project covering the issues and the problems identified with the partner company.

Company relations

The 5 BEM Chairs were created in close collaboration with the partner companies that organise and finance them. Teaching programmes are determined jointly with the different speakers and the professor responsible for the Chair. Research topics are the result of discussion between the company and the team of BEM professors. Chairs prefers to have committed students, selected in collaboration with the partner company, according to their interests and their motivation for the sector activity and/or for the company involved in the Chair.
