Chairs

Chairs: a highly focused approach to research

An academic chair is dedicated to a specific field of operational research, under the direction of one or more expert professors who define(s) a scientific project for the chosen area. Created with external funding, chairs are based on the specific skills and expertise of one or more of our faculty members, offering them ample scope to conduct original research works -which may depart from BEM's key strategic research topics.

There are three key components to a scientific project:

  • Research,
  • Teaching,
  • Relations with the organisations that lend support to the chair's activity (businesses, institutions, etc.).

BEM Chairs are not intended for profit. They aim to deliver a mostly self-funded academic output .

This output greatly contributes to BEM's excellence and reputation, in line with its international accreditations.

The four BEM Chairs

  • Sustainable Development and Corporate Responsibility,
  • Arts, Culture and Management in Europe,
  • E-commerce and Retail,
  • Sales.
