Departmental Chair for Arts, culture and business management in Europe

The mission of the Departmental Chair for Arts, culture and business management in Europe is to produce and transmit knowledge in the field of arts and culture management, as well as on the relationships between the arts and culture world and the corporate sphere.
The Chair's body of work is intended for three types of audience :
- Academic community : researchers working in the field of arts management and related social science disciplines
- Professional community : arts and culture organisations and investors (public bodies and private businesses)
- Student community : students from the ESC Bordeaux programme as well as from other institutions in which researchers affiliated with the Chair also work
Taking an institutionalist approach -which is concerned with exploring the social significance of stakeholders, production processes and markets and the specific nature of cultural goods, as well as the conditions of their production-, the Chair's scientific project focuses on studying the specific behaviours of European arts and cultural organisations and how to improve their management.
The Chair comprises a dozen researchers who are experts of these fields and conduct research activities on behalf of a number of partners from the cultural sector.
